Who is eligible to register ab
ALL teachers in Nigeria and Nigerian teachers in diaspora (public/private schools, colleges, universities, and educational institutions) MUST be registered and licensed by TRCN. This includes:
• Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School Teachers
• Lecturers in Colleges of Education and Polytechnics
• University Lecturers
• Educational Administrators & Instructors

What are the requirement for Registration
• Academic qualifications (NCE, BED, BSC+PDE/PGDE, PHD/PDDE)
• Teaching experience (if applicable)
• Professional qualifications (e.g., PGDE/PDE for non-education graduates)
• Recent passport
photograph • Valid ID (e.g., National ID, Passport, Voter’s Card)
How to register for Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
The portal https://www.trcn.gov.ng enables teachers to register, renew licenses, update records, check results, and print certificates online.
Registration is primarily ONLINE:
- Click Apply for Registration Here
- Create an account with your email & password
- Fill the application form & upload required documents
- Pay the required fees online
- Submit for processing
How to I get my Teacher Certificate/License after registration
• Upon approval, your Certificate of Registration and Practicing License will be available for download on your TRCN portal dashboard
• Physical copies may be issued at TRCN state offices or mailed (check portal instructions)
